YOU + ME

What can you expect from a session with me? First of all, you can expect timely emails and great communication from me. I won't leave you hanging! I will guide you through every step of the way, first determining the type of session or "look" you hope for. I am open to any and all ideas you may have. Send me example photos you've found on Pinterest and I will do my best to help you achieve your ultimate vision. We will discuss locations ideas, urban, historic, parks, farm or fields. I have location ideas and also am open to your ideas.

During the session, you can expect me to roll with the flow of the kids and get on their level to make it fun for everyone. I am a mother of 7, I know how unpredictable kids can be. Believe me, nothing your child may say or do will faze me, I've seen it all.

You can expect the session to be pretty speedy and efficient! I don't like to waste anyones time or letting a session drag on. I will guide you throughout the session so you are never left to feel awkward or uncomfortable.

I genuinely love taking photos and meeting new people, so I approach each session with an open heart and creative drive!

HOW I WORK

Simple, Fun & Stress Free.

I am a natural photographer. I prefer to photograph children and families in their relaxed natural state. I generally do not use a lot of backdrops, props or "stage" photographs.I am not saying I won't go along with your ideas or vision- if you are looking for something in particular I will do my best to accommodate.

What I will do is will direct you depending on the lighting and location, but overall I am very relaxed about my shooting style. I will give you ideas and am also open to yours.

Like I mentioned, I am a mom of many-I get it. Now matter how much I say "stress free" you are going to stress. I promise we will get great shots of your kids. Some of the best shots I have taken of kids are jumping in puddles, making silly faces, running loose and even crying.

SESSION INFORMATION

Newborn sessions typically take place between 1-3 weeks after the birth. The baby can be awake or asleep, and there is plenty of time to nurse or change diapers. I do not pose your baby in a basket or put them in a million different outfits. I use the natural environment of your home to freeze this fleeting moment in your life. These sessions are usually easiest for mom and baby done at home, so I will come to you.

Family sessions involve a lot of playing and hugging! I might get a few images where everyone is looking into the camera, but mostly I get a lot of wonderful candid and genuine moments, and those truly make the best memories.

Maternity sessions are typically best between 32-38 weeks. Most clients like to wear two outfits during the session, like a long maxi dress and then a more casual option. It's basically an engagement session with a pregnant belly!
